Here’s what’s new in the PWP Subnetwork…
The PWP Subnetwork committee continues to meet regularly and is now planning events for 2021, this year having been somewhat compromised by the added pressures of Covid-19 on IAPT services. Priority will be given for CPD, as this is the area that most members have indicated as being most important to them. Any suggestions for CPD subjects are most welcome. PWP membership of the PPN is going well, with over 150 members, but we would love to see this grow. Membership will allow you not only to attend our events, but will give you a voice to express anything you wish to regarding your role as a PWP, how you see your career developing and any ideas you can bring to future discussions. Furthermore, any member wishing to be part of the committee is invited to contact us, as we are keen to be represented by a wide cross-section of services. The Subnetwork is currently involved in the PPN South East workstreams around developing a foundation programme for PWP apprenticeships and also widening participation into our profession. These are really exciting projects which we hope will open up PWP recruitment to a wider talent pool, and may help to improve how well PWP workforces represent the communities they serve. It may also mean that trainees coming into IAPT remain longer than is currently the norm at step 2.
