The health psychology subnetwork committee held their quarterly meeting in mid-January. In this meeting we discussed our plans for the upcoming year, and we agreed that our greatest priority for 2021 was to grow our network. Although initially open to those in Kent, Surrey and Sussex, we are looking to expand out across the south east and would welcome members from across Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire. Our subnetwork includes members working in a range of settings, from trainee health psychologists, to research health psychologists to those working in practice and public health. Throughout 2021, we are looking to further expand our network both in terms of numbers and geographically, but also across a range of professional settings.
Our vision is for our network to become a space for open collaboration in which members discuss project ideas, seek and offer guidance, and generally provide a platform of support for each other. One of the themes our subnetwork has and will continue to reflect on is how we can continue to raise the profile and amplify the voice of health psychologists beyond COVID-19. We endeavour to regularly link in with other regional and national networks to ensure that our work does not duplicate that of existing networks. If you are a trainee or qualified health psychologist in the south east region of the UK, we would love for you to come and join us and spread the word.
